We conducted a series of downtown design charrettes with city, port, transit, library, farmers market, and property owner interests on downtown revitalization issues and opportunities.
Our charrettes identified 34 project opportunities dealing with marketing
and promotion, parking and transit, landscape and gateways, boardwalks
and streetscapes, parks and trails, urban design, new project
developments, and regulatory measures. PODA selected a short list of 8 items to
be undertaken within the next year - 3 of which were
underway before PODA finished presenting the charrette ideas to public
agencies for adoption.
