Our functional program requirements, space adjacency relationships, special area needs, site and project design criteria were developed for the state's first design/build project competition for the Natural Resources Building (NRB) on the state capitol campus on a fast-track 90 day schedule.
The resulting design criteria, which we coordinated with the Capitol Campus Design Advisory
Committee and the City of Olympia, consolidated visitor parking and service truck
access for the project and adjacent campus buildings, eliminated all cross streets, and
increased the allowable building envelope to take advantage of the view shadows of the
Capitol Dome created by existing buildings on campus.
