Our planning process developed trail design and use standards, trailheads, safety and enforcement programs, maintenance and recreational programs for the conversion of the historic Burlington Northern Railroad right-of-way between Puyallup and Mount Rainier within the Puyallup/Carbon River corridor.
We conducted a telephone survey of property owners to determine existing conditions and
concerns, and public workshops were held with adjacent property owners, local community
representatives, trail user organizations, permitting agencies, and adjacent
jurisdictions to resolve issues, finalize plan details, and develop trail support.
